Study Objective
To identify and map the updates regarding nutritional status and nutritional interventions associated with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) patients over the past five years.
Short Abstract
This systematic review assesses the role of nutritional interventions in AD, analyzing 38 studies published between 2018 and 2022. The review found that the Western diet is a risk factor for AD, while diets like the Mediterranean and ketogenic diets, along with omega-3 fatty acid and probiotic supplementation, may have protective effects, particularly in mild-to-moderate cases of AD.
