Study Objective
To capture perceived changes in diet, physical activity and sleeping behaviours during the COVID-19 pandemic in adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in the UK, and to explore differences with individuals without chronic health conditions.

Short Abstract
This study surveyed 4764 UK adults (including individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes) during the COVID-19 pandemic to assess self-reported changes in lifestyle-related behaviours. The majority of respondents had T2DM (62.7%). Compared with others, individuals with T2DM reported less physical activity, more frequent weight loss, increased consumption of convenience and sugary foods, yet also more fresh foods and less alcohol. Both T1DM and T2DM groups reported poorer sleep quality. The study highlights the need for ongoing monitoring of the pandemic’s impact on people with chronic diseases.
