Study Objective
To provide a comprehensive analysis of the determinants of maternal health and the transitions in maternal mortality, specifically the factors that influence maternal health across the perinatal period and the determinants contributing to the global maternal mortality transition.

Short Abstract
This study provides a global perspective on the determinants of maternal health, exploring both distal and proximal determinants that influence maternal mortality. The analysis includes a systematic review of the literature, examining social determinants, individual characteristics, health system factors, and the transitions from high to low maternal mortality. The research emphasizes the necessity of integrated actions to reduce preventable maternal deaths and improve maternal wellbeing.
