Study Objective
To assess the effectiveness of school-based health and nutrition interventions on addressing the double burden of malnutrition (undernutrition and overnutrition) and improving educational outcomes among adolescents in LMICs.
Short Abstract
This systematic review includes 68 studies evaluating 58 school-based interventions in LMICs. The interventions focus on nutrition education, physical activity, school gardens, and food policies. The review identifies the challenges in measuring the effectiveness of these interventions and calls for more integrated, community-based approaches.
